Marty Turco seemed to do his best to keep the Stars within reach until Steve Ott’s high sticking penalty gave Jason Arnott another chance on the power play to put a final nail in the coffin in the final period.
The team seems to be trying to show more grit right out of the gates this season, but undisciplined play and a young defense will make a long season indeed.
I’m sure these things will get addressed. There’s no reason to think the Stars won’t be a Stanley Cup contender and it’s only game 2 after all.
